Investing in innovation: a drive to move forward

by | Feb 11, 2025 | About us

In a world where technological innovation is the engine of progress, startups play a crucial role in creating disruptive solutions that transform entire sectors. However, behind every revolutionary breakthrough, there is an inescapable reality: the startup of any technological project requires not only brilliant ideas and committed teams, but also solid financial backing – investment in innovation is needed.

For start-ups, especially those seeking to make an impact in areas such as sustainability, lack of resources can be the biggest obstacle between a promising concept and its implementation in the market.

This is why the backing of entities that believe in the potential of these initiatives is vital. Their support not only drives the development of technological projects, but also fosters a more dynamic and competitive ecosystem, where ideas with the capacity to change the world can thrive.

This support translates into concrete actions that promote the development and consolidation of projects with great potential. Some of these actions are key to the development of the project:

  • Develop innovative technology: invest in research and development to create advanced and disruptive solutions.
  • Expand team: hire key talent in technical, commercial and operational areas to accelerate growth.
  • Access appropriate infrastructure: such as acquiring the tools, equipment and space needed for product development and testing.
  • Implement marketing strategies: increase market visibility, attract customers and position your brand. Making the project known to the world is essential.
  • Validate the business model: conduct pilot tests, obtain feedback and demonstrate the viability of the projects to investors and strategic partners.
  • Scale operations: in addition to developing and testing, expand the geographical scope and increase production capacity to serve more customers.

Neotec, the vital impulse to make a great idea come true

In the case of Revivack, we would like to highlight how the public institutions that have trusted in our idea have helped us, especially the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation, the entity that granted us the Neotec aid in 2023 and that has been the trigger to get to where we have reached with an impressive high-level team.

When you are an entity with an entrepreneurial spirit, and you have an idea that you know is going to work because you have been able to carry out market studies or concept tests, but that is extremely complicated to develop because it is based on advanced technology that requires a human effort with professionals of depth, you only have two ways to get it off the ground: either you invest out of your own pocket, or you get outside investment in innovation.

It is common knowledge that the private investment sector is very cautious with ‘early stage’ startups, i.e. those that do not have recurring sales. But how are you going to sell if you don’t have your product developed because you don’t have the money? That is why the role of public institutions in investing in innovation and backing impactful ideas is so important.

But it is not only the aid, but also the high rigor and demands that are required to compete, which leads you to design a plan that borders on excellence in all areas of the company, which is subsequently extremely useful to take off and place your product on the market.

In addition to the CDTI’s support, others have been added, such as Ajuts a la Disrupció, from Acció (Generalitat de Catalunya), or Última Milla from the Ministry of Tourism with the Circular Events project, all of them granted thanks to European Next Generation funds, but also private support such as the Open Acceleration of Circular Economy promoted by Patio Campus, an acceleration program designed to help innovative startups.

We thank all these institutions for their trust and rigor, and we say loud and clear that this support, as well as the grants that are yet to come (fingers crossed), will bear fruit, because supporting emerging technology companies with a social impact is also a commitment to the future of our planet, our economy and our collective well-being.
